In April 2002, Dr. Ray Tom was approved to be a Director of the first Yang Chengfu Tai Chi Chuan Center in California. The Stockton Center is one of twelve in America.

- Tai Chi Institute of Stockton
- The Institute was formed under the direction of Master Bihn Ly in 1983, and is currently the longest-running Tai Chi school in the Stockton area.
- Current Director: Bing Hui
- Director Emeritus: Dr. Ray Tom, who retired January 2006 after many years of service.
- Meets every Saturday, 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the Confucius Church Hall, 212 E. Lafayette Street, Stockton. Visitors are always welcome to observe the classes.
